Platform Overview

BeWell Mobile's proprietary platform is comprised of a patient interface and a provider interface.  The patient interface is a sophisticated application which is capable of residing on most cellphones while the healthcare provider interface is a web portal housed in BeWell’s secure data center. The provider interface also includes messaging gateways, databases and transaction engines. All interfaces are secure and can be individually password protected. All data transmission is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL), the industry standard for secure e-commerce.  Patient, provider and researcher access to BeWell portals is protected using secure HTTP with user ID and password safeguards and is fully HIPAA compliant.

Patient Interface

BeWell Mobile’s patient interface incorporates behavioral science techniques to more actively engage patients in their care management. The key design elements are ease-of-use, completeness and relevance to the patient’s medical condition.

The patient interface includes a specific diary that can be tailored to each patient’s condition. Diary entries take less than one minute to complete. In each diary, follow-up questions can be dynamically driven, based on previous answers, and can be asked on a calendar-specific basis (daily, weekly, monthly). The patient interface also incorporates instant feedback and one-button access to personalized action plans.  Patients can also set up personalized reminders  to follow their regimen. A wide range of reports are available on the cellphone as well as a secure web interface.  The patient interface is set up to handle multiple languages including English and Spanish

Provider Interface

BeWell Mobile’s interface allows providers, researchers and administrators to set up, review and customize individual patient applications by establishing parameters such as baseline targets, action plans and medication regimen. All patient reported data is available for review. These reports can be exported to internal systems or downloaded for additional review on individual computers. Exception reports alert case managers when patients are not adhering to their medical regimen. Quick intervention tools via the BeWell messaging gateway enable providers to send personalized text messages back to patients about adherence (and resend if not acknowledged by the patient).  The server platform can also be directly linked to the healthcare provider’s other internal systems for better workflow.
