Shahin Bakhshandeh, co-founder and president, has 20 years of hands-on experience in a variety of high growth and technology-dependent industries. During his career, he led teams of engineering and operational management and product and software developers in various industry segments, including healthcare, telecommunications and Internet service.
Mr. Bakhshandeh has developed patents on wireless standards, software
applications and sensors. Prior to co-founding BeWell Mobile, he
Vice President of Engineering at NorthPoint Communications, where
he lead a team that designed, developed and managed infrastructure
and services in the U.S., Europe and Canada. Prior to this, Mr.
Bakhshandeh was Director of Engineering Pacific Bell Internet Services.
A graduate of Harvey Mudd College (Bachelors and Masters degrees in Engineering) he been a speaker at the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), American National of Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

Dr. Peter Boland, business development director, has established an international reputation in healthcare management during his 30 years of experience in the field. He has been a management consultant to a broad range of technology vendors (including Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Cisco, Siebel and Verizon) and healthcare providers (including Blue Shield of California, Kaiser Permanente and Premera). Boland is a leading authority and thought leader on the delivery of healthcare services.
Widely published, Dr. Boland has been quoted in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Business Week and has appeared on the “The News Hour” on PBS. He is the author of “Making Managed Healthcare Work,” “The New Healthcare Market,” “Physician Profiling and Risk Adjustment,” “Redesigning Healthcare Delivery” and “The Capitation Sourcebook.”
A graduate of the University of Michigan, Dr. Boland
received his doctorate from UCLA. He also holds a post-graduate
certificate from the Harvard University Executive Program in Health
Policy and Management.

Chuck Leis, director
web services engineering, has held numerous technical and management
roles in software and hardware organizations over the past 20 years.
He has an extensive knowledge of service design, systems, software
development, and communications. Prior to joining BeWell, he has
worked for Hewlett Packard, StorageTeck, and Calimetrics.
Mr. Leis has BSEE and MSEE from Univesity of Florida and MBA from
University of Santa Clara.

Dr. Terrence (Terry) Wong,
a member of the BeWell Mobile Advisory Board, is a member of the
intellectual property law firm of Van Pelt, James, & Yi.
Prior to this, Wong was a senior vice president of Calimetrics,
which he co-founded in 1994 to develop and commercialize multilevel
(MLTM) technology.
Calimetrics, internationally recognized for its ML technology, developed
more than 60 patents. Wong listed as the inventor of
eight U.S. patents.
He has also served on the board of directors, on the executive committee
of the board, and as co-chair of two optical storage road mapping
Committees for the International Storage Industry Consortium.
A frequent speaker and author in the optical data storage and biophysics
field, Wong has a PhD in Biophysics from UC Berkeley, a MS in Applied
Physics from Stanford, and a BS in Physics and Applied Physics from
Yale.
